A little clarity, before we begin.
Useful answers for planning your siding project.
Explore01Are estimates free?
Yes. Estimates are free, and there is no obligation to hire us. Request one online, or call or text us. We visit your home, walk the exterior with you, take measurements and talk through materials and options. Then you receive a written estimate that describes the work and the price.
02Where do you work?
We are based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and serve the surrounding communities. Include your address when you request your estimate, and we will confirm that we can serve it.
03What services do you offer?
Siding installation and replacement, in vinyl and James Hardie® fiber cement; soffit and fascia; exterior trim and aluminum wrap; and siding and exterior repairs, including storm damage and rotted wood. We work on existing homes, remodels and new residential construction.
04What happens during the estimate visit?
We look at the whole exterior: siding, soffit, fascia, trim and any damaged areas. We measure, answer your questions and talk through the options that fit your home. It helps if the people who make decisions about the property can be there, and if you point out any problems you have noticed.
05Can I send photos of my home?
Yes, and it helps. You can add up to five photos or short videos to your estimate request, or text them to us. We use them only for your estimate and your project, and never publish them without your permission.
06Vinyl or fiber cement: which is right for my home?
Both are good choices; it depends on your home, the look you want and your budget. Vinyl is low-maintenance, comes in many profiles and colors, and usually costs less to install. Fiber cement, such as James Hardie®, is heavier and more rigid, has the look of painted wood and usually costs more. At your estimate we compare both for your home.
07What if you find damage behind the old siding?
It happens, especially on older homes: rotted wood or damaged sheathing often only shows once the old siding comes off. If we find it, we show you, explain what we recommend and agree with you on the repair and its cost before we do it.
08How long does a siding project take?
It depends on the size of the home, the material, any repairs needed and the weather. You get an expected schedule before work begins, and we keep you informed if rain or material deliveries change it.
09How should I prepare my home?
Move cars, grills, patio furniture, planters and wall decorations away from the walls where we will work. Keep pets and children away from the work area. Tell us about sprinkler heads, invisible pet fences or anything else near the walls that we should protect.
10Is the work covered by a warranty?
Materials carry their manufacturers’ warranties. Any workmanship warranty from FFC is written into your contract, so you know exactly what it covers and for how long.
11Do you help with storm damage and insurance claims?
We repair storm and wind damage. If you are filing a claim, we can inspect the damage, prepare a written estimate and take photos you can share with your insurance company. Your insurer decides what is covered. We are not public adjusters and do not negotiate your claim for you, and your deductible remains your responsibility.
12Do you offer financing?
Let us know if you are interested in financing when you request your estimate, and we will talk about the payment options available for your project. Any financing is provided by a lender under its own terms and approval.
13Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
It depends on your city or county and your neighborhood. If your home is in an HOA, check its rules on colors and materials before you choose; we can give you the product details for your application. Your contract states who handles any permit the work needs.
14Can I cancel after signing a contract?
Yes. If you sign a contract at your home, North Carolina law generally lets you cancel it without penalty until midnight of the third business day after you sign. Send us a written notice before that deadline; your contract explains how.
